Jumpin' for Joy In July

There is a plethora (neat word) of activities in Ramallah this summer, and they all leave us "Jumpin' for Joy"

We are jumpin' for joy because of summer camp that is

currently going on.  We have over 60 children

in the camp, which actually exceeds our capacity.  It is a

daily riot of noise, songs, Bible teaching,

and laughter.

 

We are jumpin' for joy because of graduations this year.  Two of "our boys" plus several teens from the church graduated this year. 

Adeeb has been in the home for many years and was behind in school when he came.  He comes from a strong Christian family in a small village.  His father had been very ill at one point in a coma for about one year. Adeeb will probably attend a local university after his college entrance exam results come in.

Ashraf came from a poor family in a village nearby.  His family has been plagued with economic and other disasters resulting from the situation here, and bad health for his mother.  Ashraf came to the children's home when he was about 10 years old, and boy, did we work with him.  He was an endearing kid as he  always tried to be good, but something happened and he ended up in trouble.  He was always so repentant when he screwed up.  Well, this year Ashraf graduates from Bible College.  We just recently found out that he has a $4000 deficit in his school bill.  If you can help with this, please send the funds to the Baxter Minnesota address, indicating the funds are for Ashraf.

Now Ashraf and all of us are praying for guidance for Ashraf and what should be his next step in his lifelong adventure in ministry.

We are jumpin' for joy because of the baptism of 3 people from our church.  This was a great event and held at the Jordan River near the Sea of Galilee.  A great place for a baptism as you always hope a dove will appear.
