In the heart of the troubled West Bank is a light of hope for the people. Ramallah Local Church is well known for its evangelical message of hope and loving concern for all people.
Ramallah is a relatively modern city with Jerusalem-style high-rise buildings. In the past, Ramallah constituted a tourism and entertainment center. The Ramallah district contains 220,000 residents. Of these some 57,000 are located in the cities of Ramallah and el-Bira.
Ramallah is the administrative and economic capitol of the West Bank, and Bir Zeit University is nearby. The town has been ravaged by violence and conflict. Ordinary people have suffered much through the political ups and downs in the West Bank. Unemployment rates hover around 50%. There are many families that have trouble meeting the financial requirements for the bare necessities of existence.
Ramallah Local Church offers hope and help to these people. Our primary goal is to share Jesus Christ. This is done through a variety of activities. We have Sunday services, Thursday services, Youth Meetings, Sunday School, ladies meetings, kids club, Bible Correspondence class meetings, and numerous other activities.
The church shares the building with the Home of New Life. In the summer we have Youth Camp, a day program that runs for approximately four weeks. This is a great time for involving new families in the church. The picture above shows a special meeting the church conducted in a local hotel as the church auditorium was insufficient for the crowd.
